About Us

Porpoura is a variation of the Italian word porpora, which is Italian for purple. Purple is the universal color for cancer awareness. Porpoura donates a percentage of every sale to Filling the Gap. Filling the Gap helps low income Altru Cancer Center patients with travel, lodging and nutritional expenses during treatment. Good coffee and good karma for every one! Porpoura was founded in 2006 by Sarah Heitkamp and Richelle Mewes. Serving coffee and our community is our mission. We only serve certified fair trade, certified organic coffee. Our customers tell us we have the best coffee in town. Considering our beans are specialty grade, which makes up the top 2% of coffee in the world, we know they’re right.
